The Share Class, via the Fund, is passively managed and aims to invest so far as possible and practicable in fixed income (FI) securities (such as bonds)] that make up the Index. The Index is designed to measure the performance of US Dollar denominated fixed income securities issued by the US Treasury that have a remaining maturity of less than or equal to three months at the rebalancing date. Only bonds that meet the index provider's criteria for time to maturity, fixed coupon schedule and amount outstanding are included in the Index. There are currently no minimum credit rating requirements or credit rating restrictions on bonds included in the Index. Inflation-linked securities are excluded from the Index. The Index is market capitalisation weighted and rebalances on a monthly basis based on amounts outstanding of qualifying securities at each rebalance. If, at a rebalance, it is known that there will be fewer than six eligible securities remaining in the Index prior to, or at the point of, the next rebalance, due to expiring maturities of securities in the Index, one or more eligible securities will be added to the Index to ensure that at least six un-matured securities remain in the Index by the next rebalance. Such bonds will have a maturity date after the date of the next rebalance and will be selected in order of priority by shortest maturity date, largest amount outstanding and most recently issued. Market capitalisation is the market value of the outstanding bond issuance. The Fund uses optimisation techniques in order to achieve a similar return to the Index and it is therefore not expected that the Fund will hold each and every underlying constituent of the Index at all times or hold them in the same proportion as their weightings in the Index. The Fund may hold some securities which are not underlying constituents of the Index where such securities provide similar performance (with matching risk profile) to certain securities that make up the Index. These may also include the use of financial derivative instruments (FDIs) (i.e. investments the prices of which are based on one or more underlying assets). The Fund may also engage in short-term secured lending of its investments to certain eligible third parties to generate additional income. The price of fixed income securities may be affected by changing interest rates which in turn may affect the value of your investment. Fixed income securities prices move inversely to interest rates. Therefore, the market value of fixed income securities may decrease as interest rates increase. The credit rating of an issuing entity will generally affect the yield that can be earned on fixed income securities; the better the credit rating the smaller the yield. Recommendation: This Fund is suitable for medium to long term investment, though the Fund may also be suitable for shorter term exposure to the Index.
